Pickin’ On The Middle Fork

Take a trip with us as we return to Idaho for Pickin’ On The Middle Fork! We’ll spend 6-nights on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with all five of The Dusters in a unique setting like no other out there. All you have to do is tune-in and get yourself to Boise, Idaho and back home – we’ll take care of the rest and our partner Idaho River Adventures will treat you on a vacation you won’t soon forget!

Pickin’ On The Middle Fork is a truly one-of-a-kind experience that combines some of the best fishing and rafting on Earth with your favorite band! Wake up every day and have a cup of coffee with Panda while G-Grass and Falco pick a breakfast tune a couple chairs over. You’ll find yourself in the middle of the Frank Church Wilderness, hanging with new friends as the Dusters provide the soundtrack to one epic experience. Who knows if we’ll do it again?!

Trip Summary

Over the course of your 6-day trip, Idaho’s Middle Fork of the Salmon will take you on a 105-mile journey that will provide memories for a lifetime.  The Middle Fork of the Salmon is a free-flowing, snow melt fed river that was designated by Congress as one of the first eight rivers under the Wild and Scenic River Act, which was signed into law in 1968.  Since then, the Middle Fork of the Salmon has remained unchanged by humans.

As we descend the Middle Fork from the start at Boundary Creek, we will drop almost 3000 feet in elevation to our take-out point just below the confluence with the Main Salmon River.  Along the way we will stop to explore historic sites, soak in natural hot springs, fish, and take in the natural beauty that surrounds us.  A guide and helper will take off ahead of the main group each day in our large cargo boat, setting up tents and arranging our cooking and dining areas in preparation for our arrival.  As the main group travels between camps, we will stop to explore points of interest and to enjoy a delectable, freshly made riverside lunch.  Once we arrive at our evening’s campsite, the guides will help you get situated and some of them will start our evening’s meal.  Idaho River Adventures provides a modest number of adult beverages and we always have fresh drinking water as well as drink mixes available.
